A Dialogue with Social Change Leaders and Collective Healers (Pt. 2)
This webinar will build on the themes of the first two explorations in the series to weave together perspectives from social change leaders and indigenous collective healers across Australia and New Zealand, who will reflect on how historical, intergenerational, and collective trauma manifest in present-day systems and what to do about it.
Join us as we explore visions, stories, and ideas around why the collective dimension of trauma requires a collective context for healing, and contribute to the search for answers about how to shift trauma healing from the margins to the mainstream discourse and practice of systems change.
In conversation with:
Donna Kerridge, Founder, Ora, New Zealand
Louise Marra, Founder, Unity House, New Zealand
Mark Yettica Paulson, Practice Lead, Collaboration For Impact, Australia
Allison Wainwright, CEO, Family Life, Australia
Kerry Graham, Senior Associate, Collective Change Lab, Australia

A Dialogue with Social Change Leaders and Collective Healers (Pt. 1)
Creating spaces for healing has the potential to nudge our traumatised and traumatising systems towards systems of compassion and care.
When trauma is collectively surfaced and integrated into organizations, collective efforts, and across multiple system actors, it has the potential to release trapped energy and restore the flow of ideas. New ways of working and of being in relationship with one another become possible. Join us to explore:
What is collective healing in a systems change context?
What does it mean to think about the work of systems change as creating the conditions for healing and self-repair?
What are some collective healing practices we can integrate into our work as social change leaders?

The Wellbeing Summit Dakar-Thiès
“In the spirit of teraanga: for openness and sharing”
The Wellbeing Summit Dakar – Thiès, hosted by Tostan, will be a transformative gathering that aims to empower individuals, organizations and communities to foster well-being in professional, personal and community settings.
In an increasingly challenging global context, a focus on holistic wellbeing has never been more relevant, especially for those at the center of social change and wellbeing efforts.
In Senegal and across West Africa, when challenges arise, a gathering – referred to as a “pénc” in the local language of Wolof – is called to bring together the whole community for discussion.
Tostan is delighted to be part of this global movement, and to be hosting a Regional Summit in Senegal which will be an African-based, African-led, globally connected convening to explore the intersection of wellbeing as a global goal and wellbeing as a daily practice in our organizations, communities, and personal lives.

How Historical and Intergenerational Trauma Shape Our Present Day Systems
Broader awareness of and open discourse around individual, intergenerational, and collective trauma in our systems could be transformative for mainstream social and environmental problem-solving efforts.
Yet the impact of trauma remains almost entirely absent from our mainstream discourse about systems change.
How do layers of individual, intergenerational, and collective trauma act as powerful forces in our present-day systems?
How does this understanding help us discern new ways of doing the work of systems change?
